Standing Seam Metal Roofing Installation
This residential roofing project in Ewing, New Jersey, involved the complete replacement
of an aging roof section, a standing seam metal roof, along with the installation of a skylight
to enhance natural lighting inside the home.
BEFORE
Pre-Installation Roof Condition
Before the project began, the roof showed extensive wear and visible damage. Moisture damage was present in multiple spots, and the lack of proper underlayment and ventilation contributed to poor insulation performance and higher heating and cooling costs.
Materials & System Details
We used 22-gauge galvanized steel panels finished in Matte Black, coated with Kynar 500® PVDF, providing excellent color retention and corrosion resistance.

Installation Steps
1. Preparation and tear-off
The old asphalt shingles were removed to expose the deck. Any minor sheathing issues were repaired before proceeding.
2. Underlayment and deck protection
We applied a high-temperature, self-adhering underlayment for superior waterproofing beneath the metal panels.
3. Metal panel installation
Standing seam panels were installed with hidden clips and snap-lock edges to create a seamless look and eliminate water penetration risks.
4. Custom skylight integration
A rectangular skylight was installed with custom flashing details and waterproofing to ensure long-term performance.
5. Final sealing and finishing
All terminations, pipe penetrations, and panel edges were sealed, and snow guards were installed for additional safety.

Final Results
The result is a weather-resistant, visually appealing roof that boosts curb appeal and increases the home’s value.
