Waterproofing Installation for Balcony in Roseland, NJ
The task was to arrange a balcony system with proper drainage. The key requirement was to protect the surface from moisture penetration and make it suitable for daily use by residents. To achieve this, we applied technologies similar to those used in the installation of waterproof vinyl decking, because this approach allows us to combine protective and operational properties in one solution.
Installation Process
We started by laying insulation boards. An important detail is the correct slope. It is needed so that water does not stay on the balcony but is drained into the drainage. We fixed the boards mechanically. This provided a solid and stable base for the next layers.
Next, we installed DensDeck material. It is a similar solution to drywall, but it is more resistant to moisture and mechanical damage. We glued the sheets to the foam, and then carefully treated the joints with a special putty. When the composition dried, the surface was sanded to create a completely smooth surface.
We glued the DecTec rubber coating to the prepared substrate. This is not just waterproofing. The material combines protective and decorative functions. It forms a continuous waterproof layer and at the same time looks aesthetically pleasing. You can walk on such a surface, put furniture, and arrange a recreation area.

Final Results
All the layers work together as a system: from the slope in the insulation to the top coating. Thanks to this, water does not penetrate the structure, and the balcony surface itself remains functional.
