Waterproof Vinyl Decking Installation in New Jersey
Balcony and terrace structures often lose functionality due to a lack of proper drainage. Even a small amount of stagnant moisture leads to frame damage, cracks, and loss of aesthetic appeal. This is exactly what happened at one of our facilities in New Jersey. The initial finish was flawed: the surface was left flat with no slope, and water accumulated and gradually destroyed the structure.
We proposed a solution based on waterproof vinyl decking. This is a modern system that combines decorativeness and complete tightness. It not only eliminates the problem of leaks but also creates a clean surface ready for further finishing.
Stages of Work
The work on this facility consisted of several successive stages:
Dismantling of defective elements. We removed parts of the old structure that did not provide drainage. This made it possible to prepare the surface for the installation of a new frame.
Installation of the frame on a slope. We created the right slope for normal water drainage. The frame was assembled so that the water would be diverted away from the house and not stagnate on the surface.
Grinding and preparing the base. All elements were leveled and the surface was sanded for better adhesion to the waterproofing layers.
Application of rubber waterproofing. The balcony was sealed with a special waterproof material. It acts as a barrier that completely blocks the access of moisture to the frame.
Finishing and preparation for the pillars. After sealing, we installed the base for the future posts. Further finishing with decorative elements and siding was carried out by the following craftsmen.
Features of the Materials Used
In this project, we used a vinyl coating with an integrated waterproofing layer. Its features:
- The system works as an integral “cap” that covers all joints.
- The material is resistant to mechanical stress and precipitation.
- It can be quickly integrated with decorative elements, including poles and facade panels.
- Suitable for use in regions with temperature extremes.
Final Result
After the installation was completed, the balcony was completely sealed. Water is now drained through the slope created, and the surface is ready for finishing work. Thanks to the use of rubber waterproofing and vinyl flooring, we covered all the problem areas and created a base that will not require additional repairs in the near future.
